R.I.P. Arnold’s Room

Just found out that as of last month, Multiply.com discontinued the social media aspect of its website, effectively killing one of that last great Hey Arnold! fansites on the Web. So here’s to Canadian webmaster, Stephen, wherever you are. :’(

Settle Down about TJM

Ripped from the Hey Arnold! fan community - shared with the world. PLEASE READ.

To all Hey Arnold! fans, please just take a moment of your time to listen to what I have to say. I want to make it clear that I am in no way shape or form attacking anyone’s intentions, attempts, or motives. Before you start pelting me with tomatoes and labeling me as a bad guy, please, hear me out.

I think we need to settle down on trying to save The Jungle Movie. Operation Ruthless, while I see what you’re trying to do, and all of you other fans participating within it, or contributing to saving TJM in your own ways outside of it, what you’re doing is not terrible. It’s not a bad thing. It’s not terrible.

I am in NO WAY saying what you are doing is WRONG. It is NOT wrong.

I am, however, telling you to take a look at the facts.

I see this poem from time to time while on the subway - it always striked me as something Helga would write.

And I shall tell him that the thought of him
turns me to water
and when his name is spoken pale still sky
trembles and breaks and moves like blowing water
that winter thaws its frozen drifts in water
all matter blurs, unsteady, seen through water
and I, in him, dislimn, water in water?

As true: the thought of him
has made me marble
and when his name is spoken blowing sky
settles and freezes in a dome of marble
and winter seals its floury drifts in marble
all matter double-locks as dense as marble
and I, in others’ eyes, am cut from marble.
